“I’ll go. Send me!”

Not many reviewed the post from last week – I know we are getting to the end of this semester and this normally is a busy time for all of us.
I was not sure whether to write a new post or not… I’m getting ready to leave for Haiti.

One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 6:8 – And then I heard the voice of the Master: “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I spoke up, “I’ll go. Send me!”

I am NOT a picture of a surrender life – Please go to last weeks post and listen to the story of Grover Cannon – His story has challenge me lately in so many ways…

But to be surrender to God is just a simple yet very hard decision. It means to release my will and follow His – Like Isaiah… I pray that all of us are willing to say to God all the time – “I’ll go – Send me!”

Our church is leaving the building and doing projects all around the county this Saturday. If you have not signed up – just contact the church today – Jonathan and I are leaving the building and headed to Haiti with a team from 410 Bridge…. It was an opportunity and I raised my hand to go…

A lot of times we let other things crowd our time while God is asking “whom shall we send” – God does not force a surrender life, He does not even force us to love and respect Him – But He is asking…. and opportunities are all over the place – The question we have to ask ourselves is will we let go and surrender..

I’m keeping our church and this weekend in my prayers – I ask that you also pray for our Haiti team leaving out today –

Let’s go!

So what does a surrender life look like?

If you have been a Christian for any length of time, you have heard God speak through pastors, Bible studies and books concerning how we need to surrender our total lives to God… Just look at these two verses:

Rom 12:1(Message) – So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.

Ps 18:20 (Message) God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before Him.

So as we begin this week looking at surrendering – answer these questions first…

Why is it so hard to surrender… all… everything about our lives… before God?

Do you think we as USA Americans have a harder time surrendering to God than folks in other countries? Why / Why Not?

God shared through Pastor Mike the benefits of a surrendered life and the obstacles to surrendering… but when it comes down to where the rubber hits the road… it all boils down to one thing.. doing it! Do you really have the faith in God to turn loose of your plans and follow God’s?

This week – I want you to hear how someone surrendered his life and put his faith in the power of God.

Warning!! – You will about 30 minutes to listen to this and then you will need more time to comprehend all that you heard… This is a wonderful story of what God did in this man’s life… But I believe, just like Abraham, Moses, Paul, Peter and countless other people in the Bible – God is able to handle our lives if we give Him the chance…

Please take the time this week and listen to this story from Grover Cannon – (Click on the Link below or copy it and add it in your web browsers address bar)
