People love Easter, but for a lot of different reason.  For some it signals the beginning of warmer weather and the beauty of blooming flowers and trees.  For others it’s time for the vacation season to begin.  While all those things are enjoyable we should also obviously love Easter for what it originally represents.  The resurrection of Jesus Christ.  In Mike’s Easter message he very clearly layed out that there is more factual support for the historical event of the resurrection than for just about any other historical event.  But the bottom line is the resurrection is more than just a historical event.  The reason Jesus came back to life was to break the power of death and sin on this world.  And since it has now been broken then we have access to the power of God to cancel our pasts; to conquer our problems and to change our perspectives.  We have access to the power to truly change our lives.  But notice the key phrase is “we have access to it”;  but the question is are you fully plugging into that power?

So there are several levels of questions we need to ask ourselves.  The first level is the factual, do you or others you know struggle with believing that the resurrection really happened?  If so, have you or they ever investigated whether the evidence supports or denies the resurrection as fact?  The second level of questions is more personal.  Am I seeking God’s power to cancel my past or am I letting past mistakes and regrets continue to drag me down today?  Am I seeking God’s power to conquer my problems?  We all have problems but are you allowing the problems to dictate your life or are you allowing God’s power to see you through the problem?  So how about you, do you have trouble believing the death and ressurection of Jesus is real?  Looking at your life do you have examples of when you’ve relied on God’s power to see you through and times when you had access to God’s power but you didn’t plug in and it cost you?  Let us hear from you.
